Seven years at
the heart of Potts Point.
Since 2019, we have set a table in Potts Point where locals and travellers meet, where food, wine and conversation become a shared language.
Executive Chef José Saulog draws on classical French technique to bring the flavours of coastal Europe together; Spain, Italy, the South of France, North Africa and beyond in a menu built for sharing, shaped by the season, and guided by generosity.
Lingua franca is spoken with the hands. In the way food is prepared, served and passed across the table. In the pouring of olive oil, the breaking of bread, the raising of a glass.

The spirit behind our name.
Lingua franca literally means a common language; the shared tongue of the Mediterranean, spoken in ports by merchants and travellers to trade, connect and exchange ideas. It was not only spoken, but felt, communicated through gesture, rhythm and intention when words were not enough.
That is the spirit behind our name, and the spirit behind everything we do.

Private Events
Franca is made for gathering. Whether it's a long lunch for the whole table, a celebration that spills into the evening, or an event that calls for the full room, our team will shape it around you.
Semi-private and exclusive hire available.

Franca is inspired by the coastal landscapes of Southern Europe. Deeper greens, sun-washed neutrals, soft citrus accents. A palette drawn from olive groves, stone terraces and late summer light.
